A few years ago I was talking with a group of friends that seemed to be very down about the current state of the country. Things that Democrats used to fight for like protecting the border, girls sports, and the American way all seemed to be under attack. It was as if the news media was trying to gas light the entire country into thinking this was all "normal". To even question it could get you shadow banned from social media and outcast from social events.
As I talked with these friends I shared with them a little bit of what I had learned studying history all my life. The pendulum will always swing back in the other direction. People need a cause, they need something to fight for. For decades this was civil rights, women's rights, and then gay and lesbian rights. All causes worth fighting for and ultimately successful. Then those that still wanted to fight needed something else to be upset about. This is when they swung the pendulum too far.
When you start telling every day Americans that they are racist and bigots, yet they know that they are not, you are going to wake up a few people that just wanted to be left alone.
This past week the country woke up. They showed up and voted and took back the country that they love. They no longer will stay in a relationship that gas lights them and tries to remove the history and traditions that make living in America so great.
Huge shout out to Charlie Kirk and his campaign to educate the younger generation. Matt Walsh for his brilliant movies showing the ridiculousness of all of this. For showing that we truly don't have a racist issue except for those that benefit from pushing that narrative. To RFK who I wanted to vote as President but ultimately was even happier having him join Trump and his team. A man that has served his whole life to fight corporate greed and save the planet one lawsuit at a time. I can't wait to see him help get our country healthy again. To Tulsi Gabbard and Vivek, brilliant humans that always have the right thing to say because they truly care about this country. To Joe Rogan for making it cool to be real again. Inspiring all the other comedians to say what they really feel and to wake up people that were struggling to find the words to express the craziness they saw going on around them. Guys like Shane Gillis and Theo Von...too many to count really.
I'm just a proud American. I'm a kid that grew up flying a flag above my bed that I slept under my entire young life. I want strong families and strong men leading those families side by side with strong, feminine women. This last week gave me so much hope for my own mission to help men heal and find community. Gave me hope for a country that still allows for every man, woman, and child to raise up out of any circumstance and make of themselves whatever they want. Speaking of JD Vance, what a brilliant pick by Trump. I could listen to this man all day and night.
This past week made me want to double down on my own efforts to build community, help men find their own path and greatness, and to work together with those that do feel marginalized yet instead of selling them a false belief that they need the government to save them, I want to empower them to know that they are the ones that need to be the hero in their own story.
The American dream is real. The American way is a system that allows us to become whatever we decide to be. We still have to take chances, thank God we have men like Elon Musk to show us just how rewarding those risks can be.
